Before I address the main topic, allow me to throw my opinion into the ring regarding homosexuality (of all stripes).

The media & liberals (a difference?) have only one, truly effective way to counter the Truth, i.e. by either employing an existing word or inventing one. The words “du jour” I have in mind are “hate” and “homophobia”. Simply put; if you do not agree with the homosexual agenda and the propaganda of the homosexual lobby, whether derived from religious thought or common sense, you must either be a “hater” or suffering from a new disease call homophobia. Liberals are insidious in their attempts to “label” anyone who disagrees with them in this manner.

But I refuse to be fooled. I rely on Christ’s Holy Church (Rome) on earth for my direction. To wit:

“Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, Tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered……………..Under no circumstances can they be approved”.

Ref: Catechism of the Catholic Church No. 2357

In regards to the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Policy”, I am torn between two areas of consideration. On the one hand, homosexuals in the military are putting their lives on the line for all Americans (and the rest of the world) just as assuredly as “straight” soldiers.

However, for the sake of cohesion, it must be said that the atmosphere “in the barracks” and “in the field” may be adversely affected if homosexuals were allowed to serve openly. We may be witness to a measure of mutiny amongst straight soldiers who would prefer not to be in close quarters with a same sex soldier(s) who has the potential for “sexual attraction”.

A recent poll among the ranks found well over 50% of our men and women in the military against repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. I pray our leaders come to a just and effective solution.

Thank you for your insight. Liberals, disingenuously of course, want people to think that those of us who “disagree” with homosexual behavior – for whatever reason – “fear or hate” homosexuals, thus homophobia. No, a disagreement is different than fear. And homophobia is a canard. I love people, all people. What I dislike – viscerally – is injustice. And so when anyone attempts to bastardize the Truth re: homosexuality, attempting to elevate it to the moral equivalency of heterosexuality (and marriage no less!!??), that is unjust and then we must speak out for the Truth.
